This article seeks to analyze the semantic components of key words in descriptive collocations related to the portrayal of war in the military discourse of United Nations Arabic Radio in 2018. The study indicates that military lexical collocations in UN Arabic Radio tend to use terms with neutral or positive connotations to present a balanced image of conflicts, thereby avoiding escalation or bias. Additionally, the article contributes to understanding how language can be used as a diplomatic tool to reduce tensions and promote peace. The current study employs a descriptive-analytical method, utilizing semantics to examine how military language is used in international media and how this language influences public opinion and the understanding of military events. The study drew on the views of Arab linguists and semanticists, as well as ancient and modern dictionaries such as Lisan al-Arab by Ibn Manzur and The Dictionary of Contemporary Arabic Language by Ahmed Mukhtar Omar, to understand the linguistic meanings of the terms used. Analyzing lexical collocations in the military domain is essential for understanding how language influences international public opinion and how it can be used as a tool to promote peace and stability on one hand, and the role of teaching them in learning Arabic on the other. One of the findings of this article is that UN Radio uses balanced and neutral language to avoid escalation. Furthermore, it was determined that the language used reflects the political orientations of the UN in promoting peace and human rights.
